Purpose-built for oblong loaves: the elongated oval gives room for batards and longer artisan shapes, the domed lid traps steam to deliver bakery-style crust and oven spring, and the matte black interior makes cleanup easy. Same heirloom enameled cast iron construction Le Creuset has been crafting in France since 1925.
