Knife Sharpeners

This manual sharpener is really three tools in one, designed to keep your straight-edged knives and kitchen shears in prime condition. There's a carbide section for sharpening, a ceramic section to finely hone and finish.

Features traditional triple rivet style handles with full tang. With regualr use any knife will eventually lose it's "bite". Every knife edge has many, very fine "teeth"which can bend to both side of the blade after a certain time of cutting on hard surface. Using a Wusthof steel will realign these teeth and remove any burrsalong the edge. It is suggested that you use a steel before or after everytime you use a knife.

Use the Coarse slot for dull blades, then hone to razor-sharpness with the Fine slot. To refresh an already sharp edge, just run the blade through the Fine slot.

How to Use:

1. SOAK: Submerge the stone in water for 10-15 minutes.
2. SETUP: Place the whetstone on the wood base, coarse side up, with the short edge of the stone facing you. A damp cloth or paper towel under the base will help hold it in place if needed.
3. POSITION: Hold the knife at a 16-degree angle to the stone. Face knife away from you.
4. SHARPEN: From the blade's heel, sweep the knife lengthwise across the stone. Repeat on the other side.
5. HONE: Flip the whetstone with the fine side up and repeat the previous steps.
6. CLEAN: Rinse knife and whetstone, ensuring both are dry before storing.

How to use:

1. Maintain sharpness (re-sharpening):
   Place blade in stage 2 and pull blade through several times (~7x) from base to tip while applying light, even pressure.
   Tip: Re-sharpen your knife once a week in stage 2.
    
2. Sharpen slightly dull knives:
   Place blade in stage 1 and pull blade through several times (~7x) from base to tip while applying light, even pressure. Repeat this process in stage 2.
    
3. Sharpen blunt knives:
   Place blade in stage 0 and pull blade through several times (~7x) from base to tip while applying light, even pressure. Repeat this process in stages 1 and 2.
   
   
   Clean knife after polishing/sharpening.
   Clean knife sharpener with damp cloth.
