The Doufeu is Le Creuset's most distinctive heritage piece: a covered French oven with a concave lid designed to hold ice cubes during slow braising. As the ice melts, the cold lid causes condensation that drips back onto the food below, basting it continuously without lifting the cover. The 7.25 qt oval size accommodates a long bone-in roast or whole bird. Same enameled cast iron Le Creuset has been crafting in France since 1925.
